Sherif Hassan is a dynamic professional with a diverse background in international development, finance, and entrepreneurship. He pursued his undergraduate and master’s degrees in civil and ocean engineering, respectively, at Stevens Institute of Technology, where he honed his skills and passion for making a positive impact within and outside of the United States.
During his time at Stevens, Sherif engaged in various academic and extracurricular activities, allowing him to cultivate a well-rounded perspective on the world's challenges and opportunities. Armed with a strong academic foundation, he ventured into the realm of international development, where he aspired to address pressing issues faced by war-torn and developing nations.
Among Sherif's notable achievements was his involvement in an international development project aimed at strategic reconstruction, while empowering communities, to foster sustainable growth. Through this experience, he developed a deep appreciation for the intricacies of cross-cultural collaboration and the significance of localized solutions.
Eager to expand his expertise, Sherif transitioned into the finance industry, joining On Deck Capital, a startup small business financial services company. Traveling the country for 7 years while at On Deck, he gained valuable insights into the role small businesses play in a functioning economy, the intricacies of supply chains, the strategies to build portfolios based on mutual benefits and positive correlations, and the management of scores of sales offices in dozens of cities.
Moreover, it reinforced his belief in the potential of innovative planning, financial, and management solutions to create opportunities to serve businesses and stakeholders of all sizes.
Drawing from his experiences and entrepreneurial spirit, Sherif founded Syh Strategies, a venture that reflects his commitment to driving positive change in the business landscape. As its principal, Sherif leads a team dedicated to providing proven, cutting-edge products and services to businesses at all stages of development; enabling them to overcome challenges, streamline operations, achieve sustainable growth, and minimize risk. He has authored papers, and has received copyrights for his works on matters including operations, credit, automation, and risk management.
